On the occasion of World Book Day, a promotion of the academic journal for political theory and practice “Napredak” (“Progress”) was held on April 23, 2026, at the “Danilo Kiš” Foundation in Subotica, organized by the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State.”
Prof. Dr Uroš Šuvaković, member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and editorial board member of the journal, and Dr Nebojša Kuzmanović, Director of the Archives of Vojvodina and guest editor of the upcoming issue dedicated to Serbian–Slovak relations (to be published at the end of April), spoke about the importance of the journal, its development, and future thematic directions. The discussion was moderated by historian Bojan Čiča, representing the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State.”
The event was attended by representatives of the City Administration of Subotica, associates and friends of the Foundation, as well as participants of the Young Leaders Academy.
Through the discussion, the journal’s work to date was presented, along with its significance for both the academic and professional communities, as well as the key topics that will shape the upcoming issue, with particular emphasis on relations between Serbia and Slovakia.
D Nebojša Kuzmanović emphasized that the forthcoming issue is of particular importance, as it demonstrates that there are nations that respect and value the Serbian people, their state, and sovereignty. He stressed that the role of the academic community is to engage in research and the pursuit of truth and justice.
Marking occasions such as World Book Day holds special importance for the Foundation, as through its publishing activities it actively contributes to the development of science, the cultivation of a reading culture, and the dissemination of knowledge.
