IIn 2026, the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State” selected six students as laureates of this year’s Student Essay Awards competition. The topics “Globalism and Sovereigntism in the Contemporary World” and “EXPO: The Future That Has Already Begun”, chosen for this year’s competition, inspired a strong response from students, much to our satisfaction. A large number of essays were submitted, and once again, prizes were awarded for first, second and third place in each category, bringing the total number of award recipients to six.
We warmly congratulate all the award-winning students!

The Foundation has presented its Annual Student Award for five consecutive years, with the aim of encouraging students to contribute to critical reflection on issues of importance to our society. This year’s topics were designed to encourage young people to reflect on the contemporary world and the increasingly complex international environment that has become part of today’s global reality.
The topic “Globalism and Sovereigntism in the Contemporary World” invited students to analyse contemporary political and social developments and to consider the relationship between global processes and the preservation of national sovereignty amid increasingly complex international challenges.
The topic “EXPO: The Future That Has Already Begun” proved particularly inspiring to many participants, who saw it as an opportunity to present their own views on this important project. Its significance extends well beyond Serbia’s national framework and capacities, placing it among the major international events to be held in 2027.
We would like to thank once again to all the participants of the competition!
