The traditional cultural event “Stanislav Binički Days”, dedicated to the life and work of one of Serbia’s most distinguished composers, officially concluded last night, 27 July, in Jasika, on the anniversary of Stanislav Binički’s birth.
The 23rd edition of the event was organised by the Jasika Local Community, the Kruševac Cultural Centre, the “Stanislav Binički” Primary School, and the “Stanislav Binički” Cultural and Artistic Society, under the patronage of the City of Kruševac and with the support of the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State”, which has supported the event for the third consecutive year.
Held from 24 to 27 July, the event brought together painters from various parts of Serbia. Inspired by Stanislav Binički’s birthplace and heritage, both adults and children created works of art as a unique tribute to the life and creative legacy of the great composer. An exhibition featuring the works produced during the event was officially opened as part of the closing ceremony.
Following the exhibition in the churchyard in Jasika, the programme continued in the courtyard of the “Stanislav Binički” Primary School, where flowers were laid at the composer’s memorial bust as a mark of respect for his immeasurable contribution to Serbian musical culture.
The ceremonial evening was further enriched by a concert performed by the Chamber Orchestra of the Ministry of Defence Art Ensemble “Stanislav Binički”, which proudly bears the composer’s name, bringing this year’s programme to a fitting close. The orchestra performed works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, while part of the programme was also dedicated to compositions by Miroljub Aranđelović Rasinski, a native of Kruševac.
By supporting this event for the third consecutive year, the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State” reaffirms its commitment to preserving Serbia’s national cultural heritage, keeping alive the memory of the great figures of Serbian art, and supporting initiatives that contribute to the preservation of cultural identity.
The Foundation will continue to support projects that promote Serbian culture, tradition, and historical heritage in the period ahead.
