Call for applications for the 2025 Annual Student Award

The Belgrade-based Foundation “For the Serbian People and State” announces a public call for the Annual Student Award for the best essay. The aim of the competition is to encourage students from Serbia to engage in creative and critical thinking about current global challenges as well as the upcoming EXPO 2027 exhibition, which will be held in Belgrade in 2027.

Competition topics are:

“Serbia in the light of global geopolitical changes”

“EXPO: the future that has already begun”

Prizes

Cash prizes are provided for the three best essays:

1st place (RSD 170,000.00)

2nd place (RSD 100,000.00)

3rd place (RSD 70,000.00)

Conditions for applying

The competition is open to students of all faculties, enrolled in undergraduate and master’s academic studies, from the Republic of Serbia, Republika Srpska, and Montenegro.

Supporting documentation

The required supporting documentation to be submitted with the essay:

Photocopy of the student’s ID card or passport (reader’s extract);

Certificate of enrolment.

Essay preparation rules

When preparing the essay, the following rules must be followed:

The essay must be written in Cyrillic script;

The essay must be created in Microsoft Office Word, using Times New Roman font, size 12, justified alignment, line spacing 1.15;

The essay must not be published before the end of the competition;

The essay must contain a maximum of 3,000 words;

The essay must be theoretically grounded.

Application deadline

The essay and supporting documentation must be sent electronically by 10 June 2025 at the latest to the email office@fondacijasnd.rs. Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered. The applications received after the above-stated date will not be taken into consideration.

Selection process

The best essays will be selected by members of the expert jury. The ranking list will be published on 25 June 2025 on the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State” website at https://fondacijasnd.rs/.
