Awards for the public competition “Women – Strength and Pillar of Serbia”

The winners of the public competition “Women – Strength and Pillar of Serbia” are Kristina Laušević, Ružica Radović, Slađana Ilić and Snežana Lovre. The competition was organized by our Foundation with an aim of giving our contribution to the empowerment of women’s entrepreneurship and helping women from Serbia to start their own businesses.

The priority in the selection was given to business plans whose goal was to revive old crafts, encourage local economic growth, development of agricultural estates, as well as to support intangible heritage in Serbia.

The panel of judges composed of Professor Žika Bujuklić, PhD (University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law), Professor Žika Bujuklić, PhD (University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law), Professor Uroš Šuvaković, PhD (University of Belgrade, Teacher Education Faculty), Nikola Selaković (Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy), and Milan Trajković (National bank of Serbia) selected four ladies who won the award. The total amount of the granted funds is 7,495,472 dinars, in accordance with the plans for business ideas presented by them.

Kristina Laušević from Šabac was awarded for the project “The best of the plum – unique cosmetic preparations based on the Serbian plum core (stone)”.

Ružica Radović from Leposavić wan the award for the project “Preserving Serbian tradition in Kosovo and Metohija”.

Slađana Ilić from Niška Banja with the project “Old craft in a new form” wants to expand the current business of making traditional textile products and include the old craft which covers service weaving, handmade embroidery, stitching and knitting traditional garments, as well as making souvenirs.

Snežana Lovre from Obrovac near Bačka Palanka presented the project “Silk painting and gilding”. She wants to revive the old craft and expand her artistic creativity, primarily silk paining and icon gilding.
