Artistic tribute to Stanislav Binicki at a traditional cultural event

Umetnicki omaz Binickom

The closing evening of the traditional musical event “Stanislav Binicki” was held on 27.07.2025. in Jasika, the birthplace of our famous composer Stanislav Binicki. As in previous years, the event brought together great art lovers, cultural creators and institutions that cherish cultural heritage, including the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State”, which recognized the importance of preserving the work and image of Binicki, one of the greatest Serbian artists. This 22nd musical event was organized by the local community of Jasika together with the Cultural Center Kruševac, the Elementary School “Stanislav Binicki” and the Cultural and Artistic Association “Stanislav Binicki” under the auspices of the City of Kruševac.

As the first part of the program, an exhibition of works created at the 21st art colony was opened. More than twenty painters and children created works inspired by the life and environment of Binicki’s native region. The exhibition was set up in the port of the church of St. Procopius and represents a kind of visual homage to the composer’s work.

After the exhibition, the Cultural and Artistic Society “Stanislav Binicki” from Jasika was presented to the public, whose work was also supported this year by the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State”. A short program of folk dances and songs set a special tone for the evening, connecting tradition and contemporary expression.

“The Foundation ‘For the Serbian People and State’ has recognized the importance of our event for the second year in a row and has provided strong support in the implementation of the art colony and the preservation of the visual identity of our Cultural and Artistic Society. Their help has enabled us to pass on the name of Stanislav Binicki to new generations – through art, play and unity.”

In the courtyard of the Elementary School named after Stanislav Binicki, flowers were laid at the composer’s memorial bust, as a sign of gratitude and respect for his contribution to Serbian music.

The evening was rounded off with a concert of art music – a performance by soprano Milena Damnjanović and pianist Milivoje Veljić, who performed a program consisting of Serbian solo songs, in honor of Binicki himself and his musical heritage.

The Foundation “For the Serbian People and State” proudly continues to support cultural events that connect art, identity and national memory, believing that culture is not just memory, but the foundation of the future.
