On 20th October 2024, the latest issue of the journal “Napredak” was promoted at the stand of the Centre for Science Promotion, at the 67th International Book Fair in Belgrade. This issue is dedicated to the topic of artificial intelligence. The reasons for choosing this topic, government projects, as well as challenges brought along by artificial intelligence, were discussed by Professor Zoran Jevtović, PhD, editor-in-chief of the magazine, Assistant Professor Ivana Luknar, PhD, scientific associate from the Institute for Political Studies, and Stefan Badža, advisor of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

“Artificial intelligence has the potential of making revolutionary changes in the society we know. Whether benefits or abuse of this modern technology will prevail depends only on us. The key to the solution is that this technology should serve primarily for reaching general social welfare, while its development should not be exclusively guided by gaining profit and fighting for maintaining competitiveness. What is necessary is legal regulation, strategic and target-planned introduction of this modern technology at the state level in order to make the implementation of artificial intelligence as safe as possible and aimed at preserving social benefits”, Ivana Luknar pointed out.

The promotion was attended by the associates of the Foundation and the students of the University of Belgrade.

We would like to thank Jagoš Stojanović, Assistant at the Mechanical Faculty, the University of Belgrade.
