Days at the Foundation’s book stand dedicated to art, identity and state symbols

These days, the stand of Foundation „For Serbian People and State” has been the place of encounters, conversations and reminders of the importance of preserving cultural and national heritage. The visitors had the opportunity to see the works which testify about the wealth of our identity – from art monographs to historical and scientific publications enlightening Serbia’s road through time.

A special place these days has been given to the memory of artist Ljubica Miljković, whose creative legacy left a deep trace in Serbian art. Her long-standing associate and editor, Vesna Bašić, visited the stand of the Foundation where she met the visitors and fans of Ljubica’s work. On that occasion, the Foundation gave her a thank-you note for an exceptional contribution to the publishing activity and committed work on the books by Ljubica Miljković, as well as on other publications of the Foundation. It was emphasized that Ljubica’s third book, on which she worked until the end of her life, would be published soon.

In addition to art and memory, the visitors’ attention was also attracted by the promotion of the book The Symbol of Freedom and Unity – A Short History of the Modern Serbian State Flagby Professor Danko Leovac, PhD, who was the guest at the book stand and spoke to the visitors about the importance of state symbols for the preservation of national identity. His book is a unique insight into the development of the Serbian flag, one of the most recognizable symbols of our statehood.

There was also great interest in the multimedia activation “National Treasury of Cultural Heritage on the LED screen at the Foundation’s stand. Through this interactive content the visitors could learn more about the constitutional flags of Serbia, their historical development and importance, as well as text their knowledge in an interesting and short quiz.

Through all these publications, encounters and activities, Foundation “For Serbian People and State” continues its mission of preserving the culture of remembrance, cherishing national identity and promoting values that shape our society.
