A new anti-Serbian war manifest has been recently presented through the German advertising service Deutsche Welle (DW), as reported by the daily press in the neighbouring Republic of Croatia.

The goal of this document, whose basic ideas essentially do not belong to the one who actually tells them in the interview, is to create the conditions for the outbreak of a new Balkan war, primarily in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through the attempt of abolishing Republic Srpska, which is unreasonably treated in this text as Serbia’s “spoils of war”.

The article gives a short overview of the basic principles of Russia’s foreign politics and their realization within the strategic partnership between Russia and Serbia.

In 2020, the world is celebrating mutually connected jubilees – the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War and the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the United Nations. Russia as one of the main architects of the World Organization strives for the strengthening of the UN central role in international affairs, for the strengthening of the polycentric and just world order based on universal international-legal norms, primarily the UN Charter.

The question from the title – although the answer to it seems quite obvious – is fully justified. Both in the world and in Serbia, there has always been struggle waged between progress, decline and status quo.

Unfortunately, the political forces advocating the last two options have rather frequently prevailed. In fact, decline and status quo are the same option, because maintaining the existing state during a longer period of time inevitably leads towards the decline of entire society, no matter how many diligent and honest individuals act in it.

Increasingly pronounced conflicts of interest groups and the strengthening awareness of the need for changing the existing social relations point to the importance of the phenomena which will be the focus of our interest.
