The Saint. Sava Academy was held on 25 January 2026 at the Kru\u0161evac Theatre, where the Foundation \u201cFor\u00a0 Serbian People and the State\u201d was ceremonially presented with the St. Sava Award for its continuous and multifaceted contribution to the preservation of the cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage of the Serbian people in the area of Kru\u0161evac and the Rasina District.<\/p>\n

The Council for the St. Sava Award unanimously decided that this year\u2019s prestigious recognition be granted to the Foundation \u201cFor\u00a0 Serbian People and the State,\u201d following consideration of submitted nominations. It was emphasized that, through concrete and socially responsible projects, the Foundation has made a significant contribution to nurturing the values of St. Sava ,the culture of remembrance, education, unity, peace, and spirituality.<\/p>\n

The St. Sava Academy was attended by His Eminence Archbishop and Metropolitan Mr. David, the Mayor of Kru\u0161evac Ivan Manojlovi\u0107, as well as numerous representatives of church, cultural, and public life.<\/p>\n

Addressing those present, Metropolitan David highlighted the importance of the spirit of Saint Sava and the tradition of Svetosavlje as a path woven into the foundations of the Serbian people, emphasizing the need to preserve these values in contemporary society.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the Foundation, the award was received by Prof. Dr Uro\u0161 \u0160uvakovi\u0107, who stated on the occasion:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a great honour for us to receive this recognition, especially in Kru\u0161evac, where we made our first steps. The Foundation will continue to serve the foundations of Serbian national identity, and those foundations are summed up in a single word; Philosophy of Saint Sava. Without Philosophy of Saint Sava there is no Serbian identity and no national identity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ceremonial programme was complemented by performances from the children\u2019s choir \u201cLazari\u0107ki Kolibri\u0107i,\u201d the children\u2019s church choir \u201cSaint Prince Lazar,\u201d the male church choir \u201cMilo\u0161 Obili\u0107,\u201d and the mixed church choir \u201cSaint Prince Lazar,\u201d as well as by the young maestro, pianist, and composer David Bo\u017ei\u0107, who performed three compositions.<\/p>\n

The Saint Sava Academy was organized by the Diocese of Kru\u0161evac, the Cultural Centre of Kru\u0161evac, and the Kru\u0161evac Theatre under the patronage of the City of Kru\u0161evac.<\/p>\n
