On December 16, 2021, the Foundation “For the Serbian People and State” held a round table entitled “Impact of Covid-19 on non-Covid diseases”. The main goal of this round table was to present potential risks and solutions regarding this disease, but also to show how the pandemic of this virus affected the lives of people in the Republic of Serbia, with a focus on the Rasina district. To this end, we gathered the following experts who spoke at our round table: Prof Zoran Perišić, Interventional Cardiologist, director of the University Clinical Center Niš, Dr. Steva Stanišić –Anesthesiology and Infectious Disease Specialist, Head of the Infectious Diseases Clinic, Dr. Vladan Cvetanović – Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Specialist, Head of specialized Covid hospital Kruševac Asst. Prof. Suzana Tošić Golubović – Psychiatrist, director of the Psychiatry Clinic, Dr. Vesna Gajić – director of the General Hospital in Kruševac, Dr. Dragana Barišić – Psychiatrist, General Hospital in Kruševac, and Dr. Predrag Pavlović – director of the Institute for Public Health Kruševac. The attendees were presented with significant research and statistics on this topic and were pointed out the importance of vaccination in order to combat coronavirus. A special attention was paid to the topic of the impact of Covid-19 on the mental state of people. Asst. Prof. Suzana Tošić Golubović emphasized the importance of little secrets in dealing with stress: keep doing your routine activities, spend more time in nature, seek the help of an expert without hesitation. It was pointed out that non-Covid diseases are the ones that cause patients the most suffering during a pandemic, because such diseases can progress later and endanger their lives. The round table speakers highlighted that the responsible behavior of each individual can most contribute to the fight against this disease, and concluded that in order to combat the coronavirus, we need to unite all the forces, personnel and resources at our disposal.
